Overview

Naples is a town on the southern tip of Ontario County, southwest of Canandaigua Lake and bordered to the north by South Bristol, to the east by Yates County (town of Italy), to the south by Steuben County (town of Cohocton), and to the west by Livingston County (town of Springwater). The town also includes the village of Naples.

Naples has a decent business center, with several restaurants and a few bars and small stores. For grocery shopping, Naples has a Shurfine Food Shop and the Naples Arrow Mart on Main Street. Neighboring Cohocton has Carey’s Grocery, about 11 miles southwest. The closest Tops Friendly Markets store is in Dansville (Livingston County), about 19 miles southwest. The closest Wegmans supermarket is about 20 miles north in Canandaigua..



Recreation & Entertainment

Most recreation here is of the outdoor type – hunting, fishing, hiking and the like. Naples is at the southern tip on Canandaigua Lake, where boating is huge. Grimes Glen and Gannett Hill Park are popular places to hike and enjoy nature in Naples.



Transportation & Traffic

Route 21 runs north-south through Naples. Route 33 and Route 36 also run to and from the town.



Pros & Cons

Naples is a charming community nestled in hilly countryside, with a vibrant arts scene and a strong winemaking industry. Visitors flock here annually for the Naples Grape Festival in the fall, when you can smell the aroma of grapes in the air. Naples has been ranked among the best small towns in the country by various publications. Proximity to Canandaigua Lake is a plus.
