Hopewell also hosts the annual Pageant of Steam, which commemorates the area’s agricultural history. The town still is primarily a farming community; most nearby attractions and businesses are in neighboring Canandaigua. Hopewell has several hamlets, including Hopewell Center, but no villages.
Local Museums/Landmarks
Hopewell has no historic sites of note. The biggest landmark in town is either the college or its performing arts center. Neighboring Canandaigua, just 6 miles west, has a variety of historic locations, including Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion State Historic Site.
