Naples has a small grocery store and other shops. For a wider variety of shopping, and for larger stores, it’s only 17 miles northeast to Canandaigua, which has supermarkets like Wegmans and Tops Friendly Markets and retail stores like Walmart..

Recreation & Entertainment

Being a lightly developed town with plenty of wide-open space, most of the entertainment in South Bristol is outdoor activities like hiking, hunting and fishing. Bristol Mountain Ski Resort is the biggest and busiest ski resort in the region and attracts visitors from throughout the Greater Rochester area in the winter. The place offers popular “sky rides” during the fall foliage season.

Transportation & Traffic

Route 64 heads north-south through the middle of South Bristol. Route 21 runs north-south and offers nice views of Canandaigua Lake.

Pros & Cons

South Bristol is a town of lots of open space and not a lot of people. There’s not much business here, other than Bristol Mountain Ski Resort, which is always busy in the winter. It’s a quick and scenic ride to Naples, a funky town with a decent shopping district and places to eat. The southern end of Canandaigua Lake is here, so boating and other waterfront activities are popular here.
